Considering the purposes of the research
and the nature of the problems, this research will use development research. The purpose of Development Research is to develop new or improved
interventions or strategies to achieve well-specified learning goals or
objectives, including making refinements on the basis of small-scale testing. In this research, the researcher will use
ADDIE Model (analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) to
create an English Module for teaching descriptive text. But in this research, the researcher will
conduct until development stage because of limitation of time. The sketch of
this design can be seen as follows:

Analysis
In the analysis step, the goal of
products will be set. Analysis
Step consists of two phases, namely performance analysis and needs analysis. In
the first stage, the performance analysis will be conducted to determine and
clarify whether the problems faced require a solution in the form of learning
program or improvement. While in the second stage,the needs analysis will be
conducted to determine the capabilities or competencies that need to be studied
by students to improve learning achievement.
Design
In the design step, it is necessary to classify learning program
that will be designed. So the program
can achieve the learning objectives as expected. design Step should be able to answer the question whether
the learning program designed can be used to overcome the problem of
performance gaps that occur on students.
Development
In development Step, the activities include make and modify teaching
materials or learning materials to achieve the learning objectives that have
been determined. There are two important objectives that need to be achieved in
doing development steps, namely:

Develop or revise instructional materials that will be used to achieve
the learning objectives have been previously formulated

Choose medium or combination of media that will be used to achieve learning
objectives
